Emergency Fundraising
If you’re a fan of the show Big Brother, you’ll know about the catchphrase, “expect the unexpected” — which is exactly what’s needed to be successful with emergency response fundraising.
When a disaster strikes or crisis occurs, getting your message in front of donors quickly and efficiently is essential — not only to raise money for the people in need but to stay ahead of other groups doing the same. The key is preparation (response plans, playbooks), communication (both within the organization and with outside partners), and evolution (from one emergency to the next, learning and building to respond better and faster).
This session where experts from two organizations (Doctors Without Borders and a TBD second nonprofit) will fill you in on how they developed an emergency response plan for their direct response fundraising programs. But the fun won’t stop there — you’ll also see the strategy and creative that was implemented during the emergency, and what was done AFTER to help continue their fundraising success when the headlines disappeared.
Learning Objectives:

- Recognize the tools and resources, along with ideas and techniques, that will help you execute and implement an emergency response plan
