Inaugural Kay Lautman Mentorship Award Goes to Greg Adams

Kay Lautman (1938-2012) was a pioneer in the field of Direct Response Fundraising, but more than that, she was a mentor to many in the field — a woman who recognized the critical importance of strengthening our industry by nurturing new talent. The DMAW EF Kay Lautman Mentorship Award, sponsored by Lautman Maska Neill & Company, recognizes an individual, nominated by their peers, who has acted as an outstanding mentor and guide in the career of a direct response fundraising professional.

It is our honor to name Greg Adams as DMAW EF’s inaugural recipient of the Kay Lautman Mentorship Award.

Greg is a founding member of Chapman, Cubine, Adams + Hussey, Inc., and an award-winning copy writer and strategist – earning dozens of regional and international awards – including three international Silver ECHOs and Package of the Year awards from the DMFA. Greg’s strategies and creative also earned the top international honor from the DMA (the Henry Hoke Award) for his groundbreaking work on the Nazi Gold/Swiss Bank investigation for the World Jewish Congress.

In his decades of experience, Greg has enthusiastically trained, mentored and nurtured hundreds of direct marketing professionals, raising them as his “direct marketing kids” as he calls them. At CCAH, Greg leads the firm’s creative department and comprehensive training program, helping and mentoring writers develop their skills to award-winning levels. He also enjoys the analytical and strategy building aspects of direct marketing.
Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Greg studied Political Science at Purdue University and received a M.L.A. from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He now lives with his wife and two children in Falls Church.
